Racism in America Today
Sadly there's still some racist people in the world that poison our world. These racial issues are seen on TV shows, in movies, and pretty much in our daliy lives. One issue was having a black president. Many opposed this while others were open to it. Many of Obama's voters were young voters and optomistic people. I like to think that my generation and the younger generations will be and are less racist do to education systems. Another issue with race is the so called "terrorist" who people believe to be only Israli, Pankistanion, and other countries of that area. I hear people blaming them for our economy, the twin towers attack, and the multiple bombings. I think this is just ridiculous, to blame an entire people on these events. I don't think its fair either, I mean why say life in America is amazing when we treat people who are different poorly.
I've experienced a lot of racism in my lifetime. I was bullied and ignored in Catholic schools by my fellow students and some teachers do to the color of my skin. I remeber a girl in my class telling me that I couldn't play with her because I was "too dark". The school wasn't equal is race at all, the majority of people were white with the exception one one Hispanic/Itailian-American family and an Afircan-American family. I experienced other issues but that was mostly based on my choice of clothing. I never liked going to Catholic school do to how I was treated their. We told the preist and even he did nothing to help.
I believe that there are many important issues with races today. One of the main ones that our country has yet to achieve is equality. Such a simple word that means so much to people who live here and come here for a better life. We should learn to ignore what a person of a race did because it will only cloud our judgement the entire race. We need to learn to get along or agree to disagree. We shouldn't let what TV shows and movies potray to make us think negativly. That's what I believe we should do to solve and end the racial issues in America today.
